jim_lounsbury_directorBorn in Seattle, Jim started his career in music video, and quickly moved on to long form documentary work, doing character pieces such as the feature documentary, The Impossible Lens (aka. The Aussie Who Baffled the World) for National Geographic.

A short film he penned, Gravy, won best comedy at the Fox Comedy Channel Film Festival, and his short comedy, Early Checkout starring Academy Award Nominee Jackie Weaver and Dustin Clare won best film at the New England Film Festival, as well as winning the shoestring award at Rochester International Film Festival and being selected by Palm Springs as part of their best in fest, during a successful festival run of over 20 international festivals.

Jim has directed numerous commercials and digital content for the likes of PayPal, Nikon, Visa, Pernot Ricard, The Salvation Army, Nissan, Xero, Skyscanner and Oxfam, and was on the directing team of the BAFTA award winning children’s TV show Lockie Leonard, which he on an AIMA award for, after directing the cross platform content for the show.

Jim recently wrote and directed his debut feature film, Love is Now, which opened in cinemas across Australia in December, 2014 and was recently acquired by Universal Pictures.
